She's With Me

A Feminist Survival Guide to Seattle

Soapbox Feminist Camp

When: June 26-30
Where: Seattle
Cost: $1,100; info and registration here

Tired of people asking you “what are you going to do with that women and gender studies degree”?

Soapbox’s Feminist Camp is part conference, part professional development workshop, part activist launchpad, and part retreat. The goal is to create intersectional spaces where you can find direction for your feminist future and explore new ways to engage with the movement. The Seattle program will dive deeper into topics like Feminism + Technology, Feminist Art, Reproductive Justice, and Feminist Political Action. At camp, you will:

-Connect with folks from diverse backgrounds and every corner of the professional world who are passionate about feminism and incorporating it into their careers.

-Receive practical advice and coaching about how to conduct a feminist job search, including tips on networking, resume-writing, and interviewing.

-Gain access to Soapbox’s globe-spanning alumni network, where everyone is encouraged to step up as feminist leaders by offering benefits such as conference scholarships, job postings, organizing opportunities and more.

About sheswithmeseattle

She's With Me is the brain child of three feminists who got tired of emailing each other every time they caught wind of a womanist event, so they created a separate space to house their feminist calendar. The benefits would be twofold: fewer emails cluttering up their inboxes, and more people learning about Seattle's growing feminist community. She's With Me aims to be a feminist hub, where all the goings on of different organizations are collected in one place. Our plans for the site include reviews/write-ups of events, interviews with local feminist activists, news updates, and essays, poetry, and art by feminists. The Fourth Wave of Feminism is here, and She's With Me will be the feminist scrap book documenting our herstory as it unfolds.
