She's With Me

A Feminist Survival Guide to Seattle

Feminist Picnic & Tampon Drive

When: Sunday, June 21st from 2PM-6PM
Where: Volunteer Park

Join Seattle Feminist Book Club and Feminist Guerrilla Art Collective for a picnic in the park! Bring some food, booze, and menstruation supplies to donate to local women’s shelters. Menstruation supplies are often forgotten in toiletry drives for shelters, so they have to tap into their operations budgets to meet the demand. Here’s an article about what homeless women have to deal with when they’re on their periods: Super absorbent stuff is the most in demand.

Volunteer Park is ginormous, so orient yourself by the doughnut statue. If you’re facing the reservoir, head to the field on the right and look for feminists.

About sheswithmeseattle

She's With Me is the brain child of three feminists who got tired of emailing each other every time they caught wind of a womanist event, so they created a separate space to house their feminist calendar. The benefits would be twofold: fewer emails cluttering up their inboxes, and more people learning about Seattle's growing feminist community. She's With Me aims to be a feminist hub, where all the goings on of different organizations are collected in one place. Our plans for the site include reviews/write-ups of events, interviews with local feminist activists, news updates, and essays, poetry, and art by feminists. The Fourth Wave of Feminism is here, and She's With Me will be the feminist scrap book documenting our herstory as it unfolds.
