A Feminist Survival Guide to Seattle
When: Thursday, October 23rd at 7PM
Where: Seattle University Student Center #210
Seattle University is hosting a lecture titled, “The Feminist Case Against Abortion,” with Ms. Serrin Foster, President of Feminists for Life.
The thing is, there ISN’T a feminist case against abortion.
Let’s attend the lecture and make our dissent known.
Here’s the event description:
“What resources should campuses have for pregnant and parenting students? FFL President Serrin M. Foster will be delivering a modified version of her landmark speech, “The Feminist Case Against Abortion” with an informal discussion of resources on college campuses. Feminists for Life (FFL, http://www.feministsforlife.org) is a pro-life, pro-woman organization seeking to eliminate the root causes that drive women to abortion. Women deserve better than abortion and “the answer to a crisis pregnancy is to eliminate the crisis, not the child.” (Jeannie W. French) It is a nonpartisan, nonsectarian grassroots organization continuing in the footsteps of early American feminists such as Susan B. Anthony. Ms. Foster has lead FFL for 20 years. Under her leadership, FFL has made great strides in helping pregnant and parenting students and working to combat pregnancy discrimination. FFL was the only pro-life group to support the Violence Against Women Act and the only feminist group to support the Unborn Victims of Violence Act (AKA “Laci and Conner’s Law”).”
