She's With Me

A Feminist Survival Guide to Seattle

Demand Compassionate Release for Lynne Stewart

When: October 8th at 4:00-5:30pm at
Where: the Federal Building, 2nd & Madison

Help gather petition signatures for Lynne’s compassionate release from federal prison as she is dying from cancer. As Lynne recently said: “Spread the word of the senseless cruelty in the way the Bureau of Prisons administers a program that is supposed to be compassionate. I may be the ‘poster child’ but this is done on behalf of all the prisoners who are languishing, in pain or worse, trying to go home.”

Lynne has devoted her life to the impoverished and oppressed, as a school librarian in Harlem, New York and for 30 years as an unwavering criminal defense attorney whose personal and professional ethos continuously placed her client’s interests above her own.

For more information please contact Seattle Radical Women at 206-722-6057.

About sheswithmeseattle

She's With Me is the brain child of three feminists who got tired of emailing each other every time they caught wind of a womanist event, so they created a separate space to house their feminist calendar. The benefits would be twofold: fewer emails cluttering up their inboxes, and more people learning about Seattle's growing feminist community. She's With Me aims to be a feminist hub, where all the goings on of different organizations are collected in one place. Our plans for the site include reviews/write-ups of events, interviews with local feminist activists, news updates, and essays, poetry, and art by feminists. The Fourth Wave of Feminism is here, and She's With Me will be the feminist scrap book documenting our herstory as it unfolds.
