A Feminist Survival Guide to Seattle
January 22, 2013 marks the 40th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, the landmark Supreme Court decision that legalized abortion in the United States. To commemorate four decades of women’s reproductive freedom, Sarah Weddington – the attorney who successfully argued the Roe v. Wade case at the age of 27! – will be speaking at Town Hall that evening. The conversation will include personal stories of life before Roe v. Wade, discussion about restrictions to abortion access in recent years, and plans to ensure women—not politicians—continue to make their own medical decisions in the future.
