Defend Choice: 40 Days for “Life” Counter-Picket, October 20th

This Saturday, an anti-choice, anti-contraceptive group called “Stand Up For Religious Freedom” will be rallying at the district court house at noon against the contraception mandate in the Affordable Care Act, claiming that it is infringing upon religious freedom. Seattle Clinic Defense will challenge them after the defense, so come join them! Every fall and spring, anti-choice groups spend 40 days harassing women and picketing reproductive health clinics in an attempt to “protect life” by imposing their fundamentalist religious views on women making choices for their bodies and their families. Seattle Clinic Defense stands with women, families, and reproductive health care providers, and is counter-picketing the bigots on three Saturdays during the fall 40 Days for Life pickets.

It is super important to have a vocal pro-choice presence to counteract these lunatics, so we strongly encourage you to attend this rally! Here is a link for more inf:

About sheswithmeseattle

She's With Me is the brain child of three feminists who got tired of emailing each other every time they caught wind of a womanist event, so they created a separate space to house their feminist calendar. The benefits would be twofold: fewer emails cluttering up their inboxes, and more people learning about Seattle's growing feminist community. She's With Me aims to be a feminist hub, where all the goings on of different organizations are collected in one place. Our plans for the site include reviews/write-ups of events, interviews with local feminist activists, news updates, and essays, poetry, and art by feminists. The Fourth Wave of Feminism is here, and She's With Me will be the feminist scrap book documenting our herstory as it unfolds.
